Bordo 2019

50% Merlot and Malbec, 40% Cab Franc, Cab Sauv and Petit Verdot, with 10% Sauvignon Blanc for good measure. The fruit for this wine was sourced from Yorkville Cellars in Mendocino County. This vineyard is in Yorkville Highlands and has been organic since its inception in the early 2000s. The grapes are co-fermented in two separate batches; Merlot with Malbec, and Cab Franc with Petit Verdot and Cab Sauv. Manual punch downs are performed and then the grapes are pressed into neutral barrels, racked once, and then bottled with no fining filtering or SO2. Dark field-berry fruit, baking spices, and wax peppers are standouts on both the nose and palate.
