Botsi de glace 2015

Jacques’ sweet pear-wine (made in the ice wine style) from the famous Fribourg variety, Poire a Botsi. Made every other vintage, due to a longer élévage, and when fruit is available. A nectarous, rich and complex sweet wine. Dense on the nose, with browned butter, caramel, fig, and peach. An incredibly rare gem. It’s easy to forget this is a pear-based, as what this wine presents resembles something closer to Sauternes. The palate has a brilliantly deep golden glow, with just the right syrupy concentration. Great acidity present allowing this to stay light on its feet at 12.5%. Magical and hedonistic nectar.
