BRUTAL Agnès 2023

Les vignes de Babass - Sébastien Dervieux & Agnès Mallet

Beaulieu-sur-Layon, Loire, France

The first Brutal from Agnès! This is all of their red varieties from the difficult vintage of 2023 where, much of the yield was lost to mildew. Gamay and Grolleau, with a very small percentage of Cab Franc. Charismatic and completely typical of their style. Light red with so much charm at depth at just 10%. Low to no tannins with dusty berry and cherry fruit. Smoky earthiness is a signature from their schist soils, with always a little prickle of CO2 on the palate.
