Casse Tête 2021

Heady and dark-fruited Cabernet Blend. Only the second year this wine was produced, with this vintage comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan 50/50. Both from Tarn, a wine region within the greater Occitanie. Two different vineyards. The Cabernet from terraced vines on coarse Alluvial soils, and the Carignan from vines on Clay-Limestone. Co-macerated in whole bunches for 20 days, with élevage in fiberglass cuve. Crunchy and dusty red fruit with serious rusticity. The fruitiness is matched equally with earthiness and a small hint of florals. A true example of a wine that has all the points Jean-Louis aims for. Fresh fruit, acid, mentholated herbal notes, and high drinkability.
