Alain’s blend of 60% Syrah and 40% Merlot. From 30-40 year old vines on granite soils with gravel and shale deposits. Meticulously hand harvested and macerated whole bunch. Fermentation in stainless steel tank with a short aging period before bottling. It’s an ode to all things fragrant and aromatic and captures that side of both grapes perfectly. Heavenly purple and blue fruit florals, leaning heavily in the violet direction. On the palate you have crisp fluidity followed by a line of detailed tannins. Its compact in the mouth with dark berry acidity and a touch of herbs and a salty bitterness.The gaurrige and dusty earth comes out on the nose with more time.
