100% Keten Gömlek, translated as “linen shirt” in Turkish. The skins of the grape are so thin that you can see the pips in the sunlight. An ancient variety that is slightly more cultivated than other indigenous grapes of the region, as it shows an affinity for producing high quality wines. 6 months on skins with constant manipulation of the must through fermentation. All whites at Gelveri see fermentation and aging in küps, in their rock cellar in the basement of the house, where they maintain low and stable temperatures. Maybe the most widely known wine that Udo and Hacer produce. Generally around 1000 bottles yearly, and always zero/zero, nothing added. Golden copper in color, with soft and fragrant aromatics. Peachy with stone fruits, dried herbs, and an earthy smokiness. Broad in the mouth with lively acidity and a fuzzy, skin contact texture. The volcanic influence is apparent, with salty minerality and a rusticity you only get from vines of this age.
