Mondeuse from Savoie. Fruit from a cru vineyard site on the hillsides of Saint-Jean-de-la-Porte, purchased from the legendary Gilles Berlioz of Domaine Partagé. A short and semi carbonic maceration with over a year of aging in sandstone amphora, bottled the following winter. A brooding and deep presentation of Mondeuse reminding us of some of the dark alpine varieties of the Italian Alps. Olives, blackberries, and spice. Retaining so much freshness, but also highly mineral, it's an extremely complex and layered expression of Mondeuse that could only come from quality fruit in cru designated terroir.
