Oro Negro 2021

100% País from a nearly forgotten, mountainside vineyard near Colliguay. 200+ year old ungrafted vines that grown tall like trees, planted on mineral clay soils. Fermented and aged in old barrels made from repurposed chilean Rauli wood. Haunting and sultry upon opening. It’s no wonder the name means “black gold”. In color, it’s nearly a dark rosé, but shows immense concentration of flavour especially at 11.2%. Immediately highly aromatic, but after being open for a while, the old vine character comes though as smokyness and earth. Delicate structure with plenty of verve.
