Pinot Gris 2023

Husseren-les-Châteaux, Alsace, France

A blend of grapes from parcels between Husseren-les-Châteaux and Obermorschwihr. Soils of clay-limestone and fine limestone. The entry Pinot Gris bottling from the domaine is equally atypical, with a big Schueller-esque expression. Hard pneumatic direct pressing with maximum extraction of phenolics from the grape skins. Aged and fermented in 2000L Alsacien Foudres for 10 -12 months. An explosive and rich Pinot Gris with a solid core of golden and oxidative fruits, framed by significant acidity. Structured with a tannic presence, the wine has salty and oxidative fruit notes alongside petrol and nutty aromas.
