Sacré Greal! 2016

Grenache and Alicante, from Carcassonne, grown on calcareous sands. 6 month whole cluster maceration and then 1 year elevage in large barrels. This is a full-bodied natural wine, inky, with ripe dark fruits, iron and herbs. Richness on the palate with plenty of acidity and tannins to match. Bold is overused in wine, but this wine is truly bold. Will age beautifully. Young still at nearly 10 years old.
