Syrah/ Viognier 2021

A blend of Syrah and Viognier from a small organic grower in Naramata BC, a township on just the opposite side of Lake Okanagan from Summerland. From a tiny 1⁄4 acre plot, and harvested without the use of a tractor. This new grower is experimenting with the use of an Aloe extract spray in the vines as an organic means to replace the use of sulphur or bordeaux-mixture. Whole cluster co-fermentation of both the grapes, with 10 days on skins. Followed by 8 months of aging in old barrels before bottling. Dark and earthy fruits from the Syrah on the nose, cut with florals and a fragrant touch from the Viognier. Berry driven with a lift of white flowers.
