100% Gewurztraminer from the Bannwarth Family in Alsace. Rich and aromatic Gewurztraminer in 2020, harvested with noble rot. Quickly direct-pressed to retain these concentrated flavours. Left in fiber tanks outdoors for several days to oxidize and begin fermentation. Transferred into fiberglass cuve to finish the ferment over the winter. Racked into old barrels in the summer of 2021 to age on lees without any top ups for over 3 and a half years. A stunning effort from Anne and Anders. A wine that rides the fine line between primary variety character and the movement into the oxidative fruit territory. Gewurztraminer character but obscured behind the rich golden expression of stewed fruits. Salty and nutty qualities in the mouth with a glossy texture and weight that has incredible persistence.
