We forget too easily 2019

From 2019 and meant initially to be a white wine, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc with the later addition of Carignan. With 2019 being a warm vintage in Valvignères, and the grapes ripening very fast, they were in search of a fresher profile, so they added some Carignan juice to the white, and then some destemmed grapes of Carignan to macerate for 6 weeks. This turned the wine into a red with dominant tannins, so they left the wine in the back of the cellar for 3 years to soften up in old demi-muid, eventually turning around and finding its balance. Chalky tannins in the mouth meet concentrated red fruit that has found its resolve over time. A solid core of acidity and salinity, leaves a lasting impression.
